It’s International Women’s Day today and in Eltham we’re celebrating Christine Falwasser, once Eltham Palace’s Deputy Head Gardner. (Read the full article here). Reading this reminded me how much I love the gardens and grounds here and how planting can lift our spirits as well as exude joy and passion.
I am always surprised each season by the amazing planting that takes place at Eltham Palace’s Gardens. I feel privy not only to be able to stroll through the gardens on a regular basis with my family but also to photograph my Eltham Palace Wedding couples against this magnificent backdrop all year round. Tudor Barn Wedding Photographer, Eltham. All ready for Stephanie and Danny’s wedding day tomorrow! Here are a few pictures from the pre-wedding photoshoot at the stunning Botany Bay on the Kent coast.
It’s an early start tomorrow when I join Stephanie in New Cross, London for the bridal preparations … yep 7am!!! Louise my second wedding photographer will be photographing the groomsmen in Dartford, before the fun and games get going. We love the door games that happen before the tea ceremonies and wedding ceremony in Chinese Weddings, looking forward to seeing what challenges the bridesmaids have set for Danny!
The wedding ceremony is at the lovely Tudor Barn Eltham in the London Borough of Greenwich, one of our favourite wedding venues in South East London. This is a perfect setting for stunning early autumnal wedding photos, the leaves are starting to change colour in the extensive grounds around Tudor Barn, with moat bridges, terraces, water fountains – it will be amazing.
Then in true Chinese Wedding tradition, a whooping 400+ guests will be helping Stephanie & Danny celebrate for a 10 course banquet at Yi-Ban at the Docklands, London. We feel very privileged to be the official wedding photographer and videographers for their special day.

I was prompted to post about this wonderful gem of a wedding venue in South East London for two reasons. One, I saw it on the TV whilst watching Taboo on BBC iPlayer starring Tom Hardy no less and two, someone asked me about potential intimate wedding venues in Kent and South East London.
This is a sumptuous Georgian Villa in Danson Park situated in Bexleyheath. Danson House overlooks the Danson Park Boating Lake. With it’s fabulous surroundings, classic architecture and stunning interior it’s a joy to photograph. Offering several different rooms the house can cater for a capacity of 12, 25, 45 or 65 wedding guests making it an ideal wedding venue for intimate to medium weddings parties.

One of my favourite South East London Wedding venues is English Heritage’s Eltham Palace & Gardens. Not only because it’s five minutes from my studio but it’s also where my family and I go for walks; the children like to tickle the coy carp under the chin in the moat (I know – teeny bit strange) but also because the Eltham Palace wedding venue has the most stunning backdrops to photograph. I am so spoilt to be an Eltham Palace wedding photographer and it is an absolute honour and pleasure to work with the amazing staff and partners, including Acclaim Food, Hand Made Food, Mimi Fleur, White Light, Prelude Entertainment, etc.
If you haven’t visited before, Eltham Palace is set back from Court Road and Court Yard, Eltham SE9 in approximately 19 acres of land, boasting a moat, beautiful and varied bridges, fields, lawn, terraces and gardens . It is part medieval palace once home to King Henry VIII and part an Art Deco house. In the 1930’s it belonged to millionaire couple Stephen and Virginia Courtauld who created the Art Deco addition. Such a fabulous fusion of cocktail sophistication and medieval grandeur. Amazing views over London can be had too including the Shard and the London Eye, etc.

The Tudor Barn, is a historical grade 2 listed building and a hidden gem right in Eltham. Situated in wonderful grounds and gardens with its own semi-moat it is a great venue to hold your wedding. Edith Nesbit, author of the Railway Children once resided here.
